East Coast Skier here (Tremblant, Jay Peak, Sutton,...); 6'; 215 pounds; advanced intermediate…
I do have a nice quiver presently but that quiver is quite on the stiff-power-high performance range even for my all mountain skis ( blizz magnum 8,5 ti in 181; used to have Brahma, Bonafide, Kendo,…)…
I began my search for something more playful that would be more easy in bumps, trees and especially thight trees ( love thight trees!) and last year, I bought some Motive 95 in 180 that are a notch more playful in bumps due to a tad softer tip but still not very smeary and surfy for trees and thight trees… Problem is that I still want to keep some carving capacity for the groomed too…
I tried a 2014 Shreditor 102 in 186 (?) and I find it a little too soft and very bad on groomed when things get pached and icy… Tried also a TST in 192 and really really liked it in bumps, groomed and skied out trees but too long for thight trees for me and I'm being said that 183 would really ski too short for me…And tried a Pinnacle 105 very very briefly in 184 and liked it in bumps and trees but felt more than 106...Automatic 102? Tried it in 183 and felt short but nimble, would 188 still be nimble?
It would fit between a Motive 86 and a Patron… What are your suggestions and in which lenghts?
Also? Am I dreaming to search for that ski?
Should I look for 2 skis ( one in the 92-100 mm and another near 105+ mm?)
So far on my list:
- Pinnacle 105 in 184
- Pinnacle 95 in 184
- Vantage 100 CTI in 180?
- Automatic 102 in 188
- Automatic 109 in 188
- Armada Invictus 95 Ti ( or no Ti?) in 187
- Head Collective 105 in 181?
- Blizz Peacemaker in 186
- Fischer Big stix 100 and 110 in 186
- And Line Sick day, supernatural
- also had a suggestion of 2016 Mantra in 177...
