coverage at A-basin?

Anyone know what the coverage is like at A-basin, the steeps and backside? I wanted to bring my Kastles, but didn't want to trash them. It was thin last year, rocks were hard to avoid, and I think the base was at 50", more than this year.

Skied A-Basin Friday and coverage overall was good to above average for late-January.   Coverage on Pali and in Zuma was good. I didn't hit anything unexpected but there was the usual rocks in a few places.  The major lines were all well-covered and fun.

Granted, A-basin is the type of place where you can hit stuff if there is a 50" or 90" base, its all relative.

That's a good point. I saw this earlier and was trying to figure out what to say, and this is why. I was just there yesterday, and yeah there are rocks. Entrances to things are sketchy. I would worry more about skiing on 3" of new snow, that's for sure, just enough to cover stuff but not coat it.

But there is a ton of good steep skiing still to be had. (Hopefully after Sunday or Monday, there will be a lot more than another 6"...)

I was with Seg on Monday and concur. I found the coverage better than I expected. Some really nice chalky snow in the usual places. Pali was skiing great.
