Great Deal at Squaw Valley

I was looking around at various resort websites for either camps or multi-day lesson deals and came across what I found to be the best deal at Squaw Valley. I was really surprised. OK here it is and BTW its not some hidden promotion or anything just their regular group lesson deal. One full day group lesson with lift ticket for $179. Not bad but it gets better. If you buy 2 days of lessons you get the 3rd free. So 3 days of lift tickets and full day lessons for $358. You can use them at Alpine Meadows or Squaw on weekends as well and avoid all the lift lines while getting valuable instruction. They don't have to be consecutive days. The only caveat is that you have to pay up front for the 3rd lesson and book minimum 2 days in advance and then go to the ski school office after the lesson to get a refund. Many places I looked had 1/2 day lessons for $100-150 not including the lift ticket so I thought this was too good to be true. If you look at many of the 3 day camps they are in the $600-$1000 range but maybe you get smaller groups and video analysis. Anyways, just thought I'd share my findings. I may have to partake in this soon.

Better double check that. Only the first time beginner lessons come with a lift ticket--which is only good on first timer's lifts.

hmm, i checked it out, seems legit, numbers are solid.

It's posted right under "Lesson Deals" on the website.

For all lessons, including BEG,  INT and ADV; and for boarders too

Lesson no lift=159

Lesson+Lift=179

Lesson+Lift+Rental=199

So only +20 for a Lift ticket or +20+20 for lift and rental- that is a great deal.

Or from another perspecitve, if you're paying $100 for a walkup lift ticket, you can get a bundled group Lesson tacked on fairly cheap and get some instruction too if you plan ahead..

You are right the third "free" day could be implemented different ways:

-whether it includes the lift ticket and or rental;

-if not included, do you pay the $20 or $40 difference? or do you pay full lift/rental prices

-or do they base it to be the same as whatever you did on your 2 previous lessons.

Definitely you should inquire and get the details bout the third day.

However, I just also looked  up at Heavenly for example, and the rates for a group lesson are not too outrageous either, it's a half day though instead, and no 3rd day as a special-although you can book  3days of lessons with discounts.

I suppose if one is about to get ripped off with a $135 day ticket, a $160 lift+lesson is a good deal more sense.

I did call them. The 3rd free day is lift + lesson. Just have to pay the $179 up front and they reimburse you at the office once you are done with the lesson.

Ah--you're all right--I didn't see the lift plus lesson package until I actually hit the book online button.
