Beginner day pass bus/drive/train from New York City.

Dear community,

In France, they had special passes with access to beginner slopes, much much cheaper then a full day pass or a half day.

Does anyone have advice for a quick day trip, or beginner rental/ski combos close to NYC?

All thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

Welcome to EpicSki! Hopefully someone local can chime in and answer your question... but in the meantime, this article might be of use (though it's from 2013) : http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/13/ski-new-york-city_n_4440839.html

Welcome to EpicSki!  January is Learn to Ski Month.  There are beginner packages at many NY ski areas that include lift ticket, rental equipment, and lesson(s).

Several companies do day trip or weekend ski trips by bus from NYC.  Can't think of the company names right now.

Should be some useful info here:

If you don't have a car, thunder ridge is probably the best, by metro north. Thunderridgeski.com

With a car, you can just about go anywhere

Yes, all mountains have packages for beginer lift+rental+lesson
