I know you guys like recommending gear...

...so here goes. I wanna buy my first real set of skis instead of used, "got them for the price" skis. 5'11", 220 lbs. Primarily groomed, some bumps, sharp and wide turns, powder, but not too deep...a little bit of everything for a Michigan skier. My research points to the Rossignol Experience 88 in a 170 or something similar. I'm no shreader but I can move pretty well for my weight and I like to push myself as the day goes on. I wouldn't ask if I didn't think I would get some experienced opinions.

What are sharp and wide turns?

The E88 might work but not at a 170, too short. I think a Head Monster 88 would be a better choice, probably at 177.

I am exactly your size and ski on an older version of the experience 88, in a 186 length. They turn on a dime, and ski much shorter than they really are. I'd go with the longest they have available in that model.
