2) Your opinion of whats crowded or what would easily be filled up post-Sundance is just an opinion and nothing else. Cite some data for us, show some stats or admit you got nothing to offer but your thoughts.

3) All that stated above is just noise without anything to back it up. With your 25 years of living there we should expect you to know your own town enough to cite some real data...

Data, data.......gotta have more data........

1) Us "locals" deal with Sundance every year, you don't. But you know all about it. Financial impact.....it hasn't been pulled away and you're merely speculating about what would happen. Where's your data? You want to play the locals card........locals also put up with the (more than just occasional) "occasional arrogant" tourists. Even the arrogants, friends and I get along fine with them.

2) What's crowded.....if you're referring to my statement about Friday? Let's see. You were there, right? Oh, you weren't. Coming in 224 both lanes were stopped from the light at Coles, back through the light at Kearns, and at least 1/2 mile North of the light at Kearns. From Coles to the lot......stopped. This at 9:30am. Took about 30 minutes to go that last mile......would've taken much longer without some shortcuts and back ways. My friend got there at 8:30 and the lots were completely full already. Sound crowded? Lift lines he got at 9am.........Three Kings - all the way to First Time....that never happens. Eagle - all the way to the ticket shack. Crescent - all the way down to about equal the payday fencing. Payday - nearly all the way up equal to Crescent. What I got about 10am.....Bonanza - even the singles line was 75yds long. Sliverload - all lanes 75' past the rope, singles line almost to Miners Camp. It's never been like that, ever. And on a Friday. Vail is attracting skiers. The gondola would've alleviated some of that, but they were still cleaning up from Thursday's blizzard and it wasn't running. Crowded, but that's all just an opinion....since you weren't there you're a much better judge of this. And you're right.......my opinions on what post Sundance would be are just opinions. But we're not in post-Sundance and there aren't any stats, are there. You don't live here, but you have Wikipedia and are an authority on all this.

3) Right again.....don't see or learn anything by being here. Being in Arizona and with wikipedia, we should expect you to be an expert on this stuff.

This is getting more and more ridiculous.

Ive come to expect you just can't do any better. Your thoughts are your thoughts and your observations of PCMR are a joke. So what, its busy. Your way to back it up is to describe the lines.. I can't help but to laugh out loud. The lines at Christmas New years and Presidents Day were like that too right? WRONG! Why don't you describe how the lines were then since your an omniscient local who thinks he knows it all. I was there through all the holidays in the last 5 years and beyond.. ill tell you how it compared to even last years lousy season. But your a local, so you would know better right? Go ahead, tell us how the lines were Christmas/New Years/Presidents Day compared to last year or the year before or the year before. Lets see it, or are we gonna just see some more partially off topic observations.

Your right, Im from Arizona and a guy from Arizona is able to keep you honest about the lift lines over the holidays and some days in between. Go ahead and tell it to everyone, what was it like. So now you as a local can give us all a big lesson about what you saw and how much worse it was this year and how far the lines were and how much traffic there was.. Lets hear it 'local'

Again, don't run away from it, tell me how the lines were over the holidays since your there.

Im going to bet it gets more ridiculous because you'll ignore it and attack from another angle. Maybe go with attacking Arizona or something

You're becoming frantic and repeating yourself. And not making much sense. I ski Christmas-NYs and President's also. But as mr. "been there through all the holidays the last 5yrs and beyond" you're an authority on this place. So you know this year the gondola has relieved things. But traffic and lift lines are a good indicator of crowds. And runs filled with nosepickers, but I didn't mention that. Go ahead, laugh out loud....it's healthy.

Run away from what....... I told you how it was, now you want me to tell you again? I come in every day and it's never been like that. Don't want to believe it, then don't. Being someone who visits a couple times/year, you sure 'nuff know.

I've no reason to attack Arizona.

Rant all you want, I'm done with this.

Good to see you go. Don't forget to tell us how much busier it was over the holidays, that's why I kept repeating myself because I knew you'd skip it on purpose.

I can't believe there's a Park City argument going on in which I have no desire to jump in to.  Can't we just talk about how awesome One Wasatch will be?

Getting up on the hill has been a bit challenging the last couple of days, but it's been Utah winter break for the kiddies, where mom, dad, and the seven kids all want to go skiing.  But surprisingly, once up on the hill, lift lines have been negligible and my ski posse had many, many runs to ourselves.

Sundance:  It's a trip to know that pretty much every major actor and recording artist has been to your town and is familiar with it in some way, shape or form.  The celebs are generally low key and decent to deal with.  Their entourages and fans can be insufferable douches.  We call them PIB's, People In Black, and often have private locals parties to mock them.  But yeah, the slopes are pretty empty during Sundance, a big positive.  Eating out without a wait?  Fughettaboutit!   In my job I travel all over, it's interesting to see Park City on TV when in Paris, Tokyo, or Amsterdam, or this year off of the coast of Costa Rica.  Our little town gets pretty famous, doesn't it?

Paid $145 for a window ticket at Steamboat. That's the last time I will ever do that!

mod note: I really don't want to lock this thread or moderate personal attacks, but it's past just getting close.

Maybe when people complain of the trust-funded, non-self made folks that run around ski towns like PC or Vail they are on to something. Or is that an unfair generalization of Park City residents similar to the one you just made of people that don't live there?

Im in the market to buy and will when I find the right place....so my opinion will be just as valid as your when I do?

And by the way, Im not into Wikipedia as a regularly cited source, but Ill provide the link for you AND everyone else interested. Go here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Park_City,_Utah and come back and tell us what Sundance does for Park City.......  seriously, as a local you should know better

Maybe try making your points without attacking everyone that disagrees?

Another person who just showed up to comment. Thanks for keeping this alive

Hmm….well this thread started as one person's rant about Park City.  Then it devolved into several people's rants about other people's rants about park city.  Now it's become rants against the people pointing out that people are ranting other people.

More to the point, when it gets nasty and personal, the moderators step in.  I agree with keeping things civil.

For the record, I've never been to Park City, so I have no useful insights or opinions, other than to say when I was on a trip to Utah I stayed in Eden and spent my time at Snowbasin and Powder Mountain, with a day at Solitude.  The other areas were either more crowded than I prefer, or more expensive, or both.
