Rossignol Experience 88 vs. E84 for Midwest snow and 209 lbs guy

I got a lot of help from this forum, so wanted to ask one more question. Local shop today steered me from Rossignol E88 to E84 based on the location of my skiing Midwest and Upper Penninsula Michigan. I am 6' and 209 lbs intermediate. Was set on E88 but given that in Midwest we spend most of the time on the piste that often gets icy by end of day local shop told me that E84 is a bit better grip without losing too much of famous E88 feel/fun. I am very humble about purchasing skis as I am not an expert, E84 and E88 are similarly priced (for what I can get them for here).

Appreciate thoughts.
