My friends and I are looking to plan a spring break trip for this March/early April. It's our senior year spring break, and we're all in on making this happen. Obviously as high school students, our budgets aren't huge, and we're all trying to pay for the trip ourselves either via savings or jobs. The group size is unconfirmed as of right now, but here's what we know:
- Dates: March 24-April 3
- Ski days: 3-5
- Terrain interests: Basically anything - we've all reached a point where we can ski off piste and on steeper terrain fairly confidently.
- We could potentially have snowboarders in our group (so in other words, Alta isn't an option)
- Flying from Charlotte
- No rental cars – we need to be able to get there from the airport reasonably (which unfortunately rules out Wolf Creek... sigh)
- Keeping the trip below $1000/person, before incidentals like food – obviously skiing is expensive, and we aren't trying to cheap out and not enjoy spring break.
Our date range gives us some room to work with, and we can travel at any time during that period, but the number of days is much less negotiable (this stuff gets expensive!). So far, places that have caught our eye include Jackson Hole, Snowbird, and Taos - any other suggestions would be much appreciated. I know Jackson is hit or miss at that time of year, but the hostel lodging pricing is difficult to beat per night. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance!
