SNOW The Video Game

For all of us who currently are lacking in snow, SNOW might be a good option. Saw this trailer this morning for a skiing video game:

I remember some skiing video game where you designed resorts from when I was a kid (the game wasn't very detailed or entertaining). You can sign up for a free beta so might be worth playing around with.

The free beta doesn't appear to be available yet... the sign-up just puts you on a mailing list. And they are selling "immediate beta access" for $9.99. :(

Yeah the sign up for the free beta was a bit deceptive I found out after posting it. I think you can pay to download now, or be put on the list and they'll send some free invites. I've contacted them to see if we can get some beta demos for EpicSki users.

I've had the game for I think over a year now and I played it again the last time they updated it a couple months ago.  From my perspective, it has a lot of promise but it's still in pretty rough shape.  Some of the scenery is pretty and there are some fun points to it, but the controls seem a little off and there are still quite a few bugs.  There is also a lot of branding done in the "custom" shop, which is fine but I think they should put more time into actual game development.

Applied for the Beta last week, and got a key this week. So just sign up on the site and they'll send you one pretty quickly.

Hi - I'm Alexander, the CEO of Poppermost, the developer behind SNOW. Great to see a thread pop up here about our game!

I'd be happy to answer any questions people have about the game. We're a small team, but we're all passionate skiers (and snowboarders) and are trying to make the genre-defining game this sport deserves! We love hearing feedback from our community and working with them to make a game that they want to play.

For those of you that want to get try out the PC Beta, here are some keys:

Also for those wondering how to redeem the keys above, these are the instructions (you have to use a program called Steam):

Quote:
Follow these instructions to activate SNOW on Steam.
  1. Launch the Steam client software and log into your Steam account.
  2. Click the Games Menu.
  3. Choose Activate a Product on Steam...

You should now find SNOW in your Steam Library.
