Looking to meet people to ski with [as a beginner]

Thread Starter

I am starting to learn how to ski and looking to meet beginner skiers. I ski in Bear Valley, CA since I own a home near there.

Does anyone know a good way to meet beginner skier in the area?

Welcome to EpicSki!  In general, posting a self-introduction in a regional/resort thread is one way to let people know you are looking for someone to make a few runs with.  A complete list is at the top of the Resorts forum.

It's fair to say that meeting other adult beginners in not easy.  If a local ski area has a multi-week instructor program, that can be fun and help get to the intermediate level relatively quickly.  Easier to find others to ski with when on more blue than green trails.

Big bear/Bear mtn is far away from Bear valley unfortunately but commonly mistaken for each other. Ive always wanted to try out Bear Valley but its a LONG drive from so cal. Not too many folks on this site are regulars at Bear Valley but there are a few. They are probably more advanced skiers though. Best bet is to take group lessons and meet up with other beginner locals that way. Good luck and it looks like you are having a great winter to make progress!!!

Oops.  Thanks for the correction.

Other than Heavenly and Kirkwood over ten years ago, I haven't skied in California.  Guess I haven't heard of Bear Valley before.
