Anyone have any experience turning their skis over for a basic tune at their local shop and having them handed back in worse shape, with zero explanation or a heads up to the issue?
A few weeks ago I took my new Blizzards in to have a core shot repaired. They did a good enough job filling the gouge, but did an even better job of leaving a 12" scrape down the top of the ski. I didn't notice this until I got home. It's not horrific, but for a pair of skis I've used a half dozen times (and considering how often I can afford new skis) it is horrific.
After calling the shop to inquire what happened I was given a "that's weird" and a free "pro" tune, the last thing I plan on using. Accidents happen, it just would have been nice to have it brought to my attention upon pickup.
Should I have asked for a new pair? A discount on the next pair? I did buy them at the shop that butchered them. P.S. I'm quickly learning how to repair core shots along the edge.
