POCONO SKI SCHOOL QUESTION

Would you say the instructors are better at Camelback, JackFrost, or Shawnee?  I'm staying smack in the middle of the three of them for a weekend and I wanted to get some lessons for my wife.

What level skier is she?  Looking for private or group?

I don't know the ski schools you mentioned, but in general if you can get a recommendation for a very experienced instructor (10+ years) for a private lesson, good instructors can be found pretty much at any ski school.  Group lessons vary a lot more.  My home mountain is Massanutten, only 75 acres in northern VA.  Has one of the best ski schools in the region with 10+ Level 3 and up instructors, including the Ski School Director.  They host PSIA Instructor Clinics annually.  I think the ski school is much better than Snowshoe in WV, which has a lot more terrain.  For a beginner or cautious intermediate, smaller and less crowded can be better.

Might try asking in the ongoing regional thread:

You have many variables to consider one of my suggestion is ski camelback that's my favorite..talk to ski director first thing and he will guid u in the proper direction of what to do specific to her ability&physical state is important for beginners to progress.. If she can ski already or is advanced the director is your best bet at a ski school
