Mid-Intermediate needing help choosing a ski [in southeast for college, NE & Rockies too]

Yooo guys,
I've been watching this site for about a year now, and decided that I should make an account and ask the masters themselves for advice.

So I have skied for about 10 years on the east coast ( Vermont, Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, West Virginia) with the exception of a few trips out west to Utah and Colorado. I got to college in North Carolina so I'm locked around this area of slopes for the time being. I would consider myself a solid intermediate. Never really having that much trouble around these slopes. I've been looking for a new pair of skis. I'm 5'11 and 145. I'm definitely leaning towards an All Moutian ski, and have been pushed towards the Rossignol Experience 100 Ti skis by a friend. Any suggestions, input, would be very much appreciated.

Thanks mates!

Welcome to Epic. Not sure I'd consider that person a friend. A 100mm ski is just plain silly for where you mostly ski and a lot of work. At your size, 100mm is a decent powder ski and I'm pretty sure you don't get much of that. You should get something that works well for the conditions you're most likely to encounter, namely hardpack. Something around 80mm is a much better choice than 100mm. And you can still use it if you take a trip to Utah or Colorado. The Head Monster 83, Head Strong Instinct Ti(83mm), Kaestle MX83(pricey), Fischer Motive 80, Nordica Avenger 82 are all possibilities. I would personally lean toward either Head ski. I own the Strong Instinct Ti and it is a very good ski, good edge grip, capable in powder up to 8-10 inches, good in bumps and fun to ski.
