Can anyone suggest a place to rent in Breckenridge...need skis, poles, boots.  Staying near the Peak 9 hotel/townhome not sure what it is.  I did not make reservations.  ( jan6th). We did not rent a car.  taking airport van/shuttle to village area,

Should I call ahead or online etc ?  I don't want to rent junk but don't need super expert stuff.

Yes most places will give you the biggest discount if you do the reservation online and usually at least 48 hours in advance.  There is a Christy Sports close to where you will be.  I have not rented from specific store but do rent from Christy when family/friends come to town.  I've never had an issue with them and prices are reasonable and equipment is in good shape. That said, selection and pricing is not the same at every store.  It will be a few more dollars slope side for you.  There are several Christy stores in the area and you will probably see that difference in price when checking online.

Not close to you but not that far away is A Racers Edge.  Good place.  Might be worth at least checking out.  If you have the desire to try a Kastle ski then this is your place.

Main Street Sports.  Closer than A Racers Edge.  They have some good deals and if you want to try Volkl then give them a look.

There is another shop close but I don't remember the name.  Sorry.   Ah, that was easy.  Blue River.  Don't know anything about them other than they should be there close to you.

Have a great vacation.  The snow/conditions, other than freezing yesterday :), have been good.

Christy sports is who I used. Think it was $28/day for a board.

We used Blue River a few weeks ago. Helmets where new, we could change equipment anytime to try something different any time. I will use them again.
