where to stay

I will be spending 4 days at Squaw and 4 at Heavenly.  Which would be an easier commute, staying up north and driving south or vice versa?  Im thinking about staying in the crystal bay area up north.  I already bought the squaw super 4 so that is set.  Which other resorts are worth seeing?

Squaw

Alpine

Sugar Bowl

Rose

Are all worth a couple of days, if not a lifetime.

Kirkwood is pretty good, but out in BFE.

Personally, I would just stay on the north shore.

if you're splittling then split your stay.  stay 4 days in south then 4 days in north.

Use your super4 to go to alpine at least 1 day to check it out.

Use your epic day tickets to check out kirkwood 1 day.

Deciding on where to stay overnight, North vs South?  The deal breaker is the which will be easier to drive, from north to south or south to north?  And which route should i take, via the east or west side of the lake.

If you're only just deciding about your extra day where its 5nights north and 4nights south or vice versa its up to you.

There is no overriding factor and it won't make a difference.

It depends more on which lodging you chose and if you end up spending the extra night at the ritz or the flipside you want to save money so your extra night is at motel6. Its up to you.

Travel route also doesnt matter its the same. Once you've determined your final locations just bring up maps on your computer or smartphone and plot shortest route.
