The 250,000 people who live in the Medford-Klamath Falls area in southern Oregon need ski areas.
A development group needs to build an alpine ski area on Pelican Butte similar in design and scope to Grand Targhee. The same group needs to build a world-class Nordic area adjacent to the alpine area.
The ski areas will provide the general public with quality winter recreational activities. Youth development programs at the areas will produce world-class skiers who win gold medals in the Winter Olympics.
The state of Oregon needs to build an I-5 on/off ramp north of Central Point that leads to a boulevard that connects I-5 to Highway 140 so that 1,000 to 2,000 people can easily commute from Medford-Grants Pass to the ski areas. The state and/or county need to improve Highway 140 between White City and Pelican Butte.
