I have the following problem:
Skinny lower leg (I'm tall) and ankle area, medium/narrow heel, wide forefoot, very low instep.
I'm currently skiing in some Dobermanns WC 130, 93 last, size 28.5 (BSL 325) with custom insoles. I really like these boots and especially the way they ski, but they needed a huge amount of fitting (bigger toe box, wider in the 6th toe area, more space for the 5th metatarsalia and more space for the heel). So lots of grinding and punching and they are still hard on my feet but all in all fit well.
Have been wearing these for a full season now (150 days). Planning on keeping the dobies if I'm skiing on my own and even replacing them in the future (that's how much I like to ski in them :))
But I'd like to hear some inputs from you guys on which boots might work for me as a daily driver while teaching.
One of the main problems I have when trying on boots is my low instep. Most if not all boots except plugs are just too roomy there (i.e. the new Dobermann GP130).
So I need a boot that has a very low instep and low ankle/lower leg volume to prevent the obvious shin bang while trying to avoid excessive boot fitting that comes with a plug...
Thanks for the input and I know, going to a bootfitter is the way to go and I will buy the boots at an experienced shop but just wanted to hear some different oppinions...
