Not always. It depends on how much time you spend on the lift, whether you have to ride that same lift back at the end of the day, and the quality of the skiing required to use the lift. If I have to spend the first and last 90 minutes of the day skiing flat roads and riding lifts (exposed to wind/cold) vs. driving a car or riding a bus for 40 minutes, I will opt for the ground transport. Ground transportation is available before and after the lifts close. I can get 3 more hours on the mountain skiing interesting stuff.
In your earlier post you mentioned weather holds.
If any of the new connectors are shut down due to weather, you could easily be stuck at the wrong end of your day of awesome lift riding.
You'll be taking ground transportation anyway. (Hope the wait isn't too long)
