Feeler: Possibly for sale: Kastle MX88, 178 or MX83, 173

Friends,

Wondering if fellow bears can help me with a conundrum.

I have a brand new paid of Kastle MX88, in178CM, current top sheet, never mounted and in the plastic wrapper.  I'm considering selling them as they're overkill with my FX104 and MX83. This year's MSRP is $1299.  Considering reasonable offers for shipment within lower 48 states.

I may be talked into selling my MX83's in 173cm (2013 edition - not current graphics - mounted with Tyrolia PRD12).  They're in amazing shape with a recent tune from the former World Cup techs at Podium Ski in Park City. They probably have about 10 days on them max.  If I sell these, I'll keep the MX88's.

The "request for comment part": One of these two skis will be the other half of my quiver alongside a pair od FX104's from last year.  I am a big fan of the overall shape and flex pattern of the FX104's.

Send a PM and I'll send pics if you're interested

All comments, advice and offers graciously accepted....

Thanks!

JRo

How much for the 83's?

Obvious answer: keep the 83s, which aren't worth as much and widen the scope of your quiver more. Amazing ski. Get good money for the 88s.

Two people sent PM's asking for a purchase price for the MX83's.  I asked for an offer.  Neither responded.

So....  I'll consider reasonable offers for either pair  0- the unmounted MX88 or the mounted MX83.

Thanks for pinging.

Another slight aside -- I have PRD12's on a bunch of skis, but the MX83's are actually mounted with K12CTI's at 327BSL.  There's a little adjustability but not like the PRD.  I realized it when I clicked into them over Xmas.

Thanks!

Doesn't sound like you want to sell them. Likely your " reasonable offers" hopes are 700+. That cuts the market down considerably. But if that's the case just post it.

I'd agree w/Tog.  VERY few items in the world are sold by "make an offer", except perhaps in the first stage of an auction.  You know generally what money you want for them; if you're serious about selling, then put it out there.  "Make an offer" absolutely discourages me --- and probably most people -- from ever considering following up.  It tells me, the buyer, that what you want is a lot more than I'm willing to pay, but you don't want to admit it openly.

That said, if you're really serious about sticking with the plan, I'll make an offer: $200 for the MX83's.

Thanks for all of your input.  I guess I'm not all that serious about selling them to consider your offer at $200.

Taking the constructive part of your criticism to heart, I'd consider offers around $595 plus shipping for the MX83's.  Remember, they're mounted with k12 Kastle, not the PRD12, and are mounted for a BSL of 327mm.  Again, I'm not super motivated to sell, but just reached out to this forum to get peoples opinions about the MX88/83 situation.

If anyone is interested, I'm asking $750 for the MX88 new and unmounted in wrapper.  Includes standard shipping in the lower 48.

I think you'll have a much better chance at selling the 88s for what you want. If you like the 83s I would keep those.
