I really hate the singles line...I feel a bit like a sore thumb, always standing out and always in the way.
Here are a few different scenarios that have happened to me. Wondering how common they are to others?
1) In singles line at 6 person chairlift. Having hard time figuring who is groups of six because most seem to split into two groups of three as they turn the corner in the line (where the singles merge) and then later remerge to become a group of six. Guy behind me is asking "are you ever going to go" and I finally find what I think is a group of 5, only to find there was a straggler and then I became the 7th person...I quickly bailed to the side but got a bit of talking to from some woman who was annoyed that I went at the wrong time.
2) In singles line for 4 back. Two lines feed (one south side of lift and one north side) each with group lines and single lines. Group of 3 from the group line invite me into their group (point to me and ask me to join them), as I do so a pole flies up blocking me and the other single says "I'm next". I guess I should have declined the invitation
3) I see a group a 3 in the 4 person chair (long lift line), and I join up with the group of 3. Woman in the line says "you can't ride on this chair, my daughter wants to be on the outside."
4) I'm a single in the group line and was once accused of cutting and told that singles aren't allowed in the group line.
Overall, I really hate being a single skier when it comes to lift lines...always feel a bit out of place.
