Nice powder days with soft turns. Photo taken Dec. 23rd.

Soft winter blanket of white in the Sawtooth range.

Even just a few inches improves things greatly. Dec. 23.

Dec. 22

Dec 22

Our first day on Saturday was storm skiing with poor via. It did get better as the snow

Continued to pile up.

Some really nice ski conditions for December in Sun Valley. For those coming out soon, you should be met with superb conditions.

Looks like a lot of fun!

What dates did you take the pics?  Do you mind if the thread is moved to Trip Reports?

Dec. 19 - Dec. 23. It has snowed between a few inches to about a foot everyday. Over 102 '' for the season. On piste is soft, dry and velvety. Off piste has been sublime. Crowds were heavy for SV on Tuesday. Everyone came out to ski on a bluebird powder day. Most were gone by noon, or sooner. Temps have been cold at night so the pistes have been well maintained.

No worries of moving to Trip reports location.

Moved.  I've been paying attention to SV threads because I'm headed that way in Jan for the first time because of the MCP.  Can't wait!

You might post 1 or 2 of your favorite pics to the December Image of the Month contest thread (1 pic per post).  A balaclava is the prize this month.

Ummm, I don't see too many people in any of those pictures.  Just a lot of snow.  **licking my chops**

More storm skiing today. Started out with partly cloudy skies, with a few flurries. Then the clouds came in and the snow started to fall moderately around 11AM. It got progressively harder as the day wore on. It has subsided around 8PM. Hoping for some nice Christmas powder turns! 6 straight days of skiing powder. Never had a ski trip like this before.

Beautiful Christmas day at SV. Lots of deep, light dry powder turns this morning. My legs are fried.

I've never had anything close to a powder day anywhere else in the Rockies but at Sun Valley, which gets less snow than anyone, I've had many. Go figure.

Good news about the ski conditions.

I expect to be skiing SV on an MCP Jan.22 & 23 on my way to Utah.:yahoo:

Today the pow was as light and dry as I have skied in a very long time, temps are going into negative territory, so the snow will be well preserved. Headed home tomorrow. Hope the storm cycle returns soon for those coming this way.
