We spent two days at Beaver Creek last week meeting some friends from Sydney and ripping with their 14yo daughter. It was fun, timed perfectly for a storm. Conditions are pretty good in CO, methinks.
The snow started as we drove over Vail pass Monday night, and didn't really stop for 36 hours. Tuesday was about 8 inches of fresh, slighlty dense pow, but very fun skiing. About 70% of the area was open, and it was by no means crowded.
Tuesday was even quieter, with lots of pockets of freshies left. The cold had dried out the snow, and we played for much of the day in the trees off Strawberry Park - it was great fun.
Stayed at Pines Lodge - very nice place and ski in-out. Pre-Xmas rates were pretty good too :)
