Tip protectors on 1980s Dynastar Prosoft

What is the easiest way to take them off? Thanks.

Hang the skis on the wall with the protectors still on.

Why?  I would leave them on.

I want to take the tip protectors off the Prosoft and put them on a pair of circa 1980 Omesoft that I bought that do not have tip protectors. Same tip protector.

In that case I wish I could help you.  I have some on my fence, but it's too dark and gnarly now to check them out! 
It just won't stop snowing here!
