I am planning a ski trip on 1/8 to 1/10 with four of my friends. We are all first timer. The weather is not looking that great, and we are not sure should we go on the trip, and where we should go. We picked two mountains Gore and Killington.
As of now, I am looking at 3 day lesson package at Gore or Killington.
What I understand about Gore
Gore only have a couple green trails, so I am not sure is this a good place for us to start. I do not want to repeat the similar trail for 3 days, because that might get a bit boring after several runs.
As of today, it had 7 trails and 1 lift open, none of them are for beginner.
The price of Gore is lower than Killington
Travel distance to Gore is shorter.
Gore is a smaller resort, but it usually has less people, so it can be a good place to start without waiting.
3 day lesson packages includes 3 days of lesson(parallel from start, short ski?), lift ticket and ski rental
What I understand about Killington
Killington has relatively more Green and Blue trail
As of today, it had 24 trails and 7 lifts open. I think there are two areas that is open for beginner.
The price of Killington is higher.
Travel distance to Killington is longer
Killington can get crowded on weekend, so there may be more disruption and wait time.
3 day lesson packages includes 2 days of lesson(Not sure is it parallel form start),and 3 days of lift ticket and ski rental
One additional question: Does snow condition affect a beginner much?
Of course, I will always be up for other locations suggestions and tips! Thanks.
I had a post that I made a week back in Beginner that was looking for some advices. I was told to come here for better response.
