Looking to buy new skis [in Canada]

I've been saving up for awhile and I need some new skis. (I've outgrown my old ones)

I'd like some dual headed skis and would like to spend a reasonable amount (Around $500 CAD +/- 200).

I don't know where to buy in Canada (pretty much need online as not alot of stores here).

I'm about 58kg 173cm tall guy and mostly ski on groomed surfaces but plan on exploring racing later this year so I'd like something versatile. I don't know were to start as most of my stuff has been purchased from the wildly overpriced sports stores.

Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Dont know where you are, but Corbetts has online presence with their estore  ASOGear. Good deals, generally. if you go between the 2 websites, you may find slightly different products. ASO is their clearance store, current stuff is through the Corbetts site. (i think thats how it works) You can call them or online chat for any assistance

You have a unique definition of versatility: groomed runs and race courses.

There is also http://www.skiproshop.com/

It's not really serious racing, but I wouldn't want to get the exact opposite of what's correct.

By two headed, I assume you mean twin tips.  I don't know of any twin tipped skis that make decent race skis, but maybe some folks who are more familiar with twin tipped skis can help you out.

Now that I look more it seems twin-tipped is probably the wrong choice for my use-case.

After looking a bit, I'm between some 2013 Rossingol 9GS 2013 and 2014 atomic Temper Tis. Not sure which one is better or what size I should buy. They're both just under $600.

Is there a coach for your program that you could talk to?

Not really. He just told me I could rent gear :P

I ski mostly on my own regardless. I've only joined a team so I could ski a bit more.

Between those two, I would pick the Rossi, even though I'm not a big fan of the consumer Rossi GS race ski ( I do like the Rossi SL though).  Be aware that as a groomer zoomer it will need some room and at least 350' of vertical on your local hill to make it a good choice.

EDIT: best advice would come from your coach and fellow racers.
