First Skis [51yo intermediate, CO & NM]

I was contemplating purchasing my first skis. I'm 51 years old and am a intermediate skiier with asperations of getting better and skiing a 3 or more trips every year for the next several years. I'm looking for an all mountain ski. I'm 6'2 and 230 lbs. and mostly stay on the groomers but do like to get off trail at times.

I really don't want to spend a fortune and am ok with used or new old stock. I was looking at some K2 Apache Recon 2011 model new with Soloman 610 bindings on Ebay for $320.00.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The ski's are 177cm and we ski Colorado mostly with an occasional trip to New Mexico.

I'd say those are too short for your size if you're going off-piste.  I haven't been a fan of K2 for a couple decades so I know nothing about that particular ski except that I think 78mm is not really ideal for Colorado skiing.  I think 85-90mm would be a lot more versatile.  Head Rev 85 should work pretty well for you, http://pugski.com/forum/threads/just-in-time-for-christmas.626/
