Ceramic disc edgers and Magnatraction

Season Greetings from the trenches,

Say, does anyone out there have any experience running magnatraction over the Wintersteiger Trimjet? I used my buddy as a guinea pig and ran his snowboard (yeah, I have knuckle dragger buddies…..it's the Northwest…..they're everywhere) over it. The edge angle seems to change in the peaks. Does this happen on a belted edger as well?

Any insight would be much appreciated,

I do not have personal experience tuning magnatraction, but I have been told that it can be done on a Trimjet. The key is the feed pressure needs to be dropped to almost none and the board needs to be guided through or else you get very uneven edge angles.

Do you think your average accomplished rider will be able to feel the inconsistant edge angles?

Ran Lib Tech on a Trim 71. Two slower passes with very light pressure and more emulsion to counter the heat from the slower speed. Still not perfect, but it is fairly consistent through the length.

I find that regular ceramic edge tuning will thin out the high points in magna, where belting is less. Not to worry though, snowboarders usually only tune once every 2-3 years. Haha
On a side note, Lib produced some skis in the past with magna, not sure if they still do.

You know I have no experience with a TrimJet.

I will say I have done them by hand and had no problems.

Do them by hand and charge them a high rate.  Wavy edges = high price!  Easy!
