Whistler-Blackcomb conditions inquiry?

How is Whistler-Blackcomb at this time? North America? But just to get a feel as this is very early season, for instance, is Whistler Bowl, West Bowl or Harmony or Symphony open, all some ? And on Blackcomb which seems on the website to have more 'open', is the glacier side access path open above Horstman Glacier (Showcase T-Bar) and hence path to the glacier side, and of course, are the Jewels above Spanky's accessible and open ? Seventh Heaven ?

It is very early but if anyone is there - what does it look like and when do they look comfortably skiable?
Discussions on for Christmas week which is reportedly very crowded (we've only been during Easter)

Been here in Whistler 16 seasons full time and this has been an above average starts to the season.  With heavy snowfall so far with very favorable temps, everything above 1000m (mid mountain) in great shape, with cold valley temps they have brought most of the snowmaking infrastructure down to finish up the runs to the valley.

All but Symphony have opened (due to business levels) over 7000 acres skiable, (Symphony I have toured out to and found great snow)

Add the forecasted snow well over 1m  in the next few days were in great shape.

I would assume Symphony will open this weekend, getting close to 100%

Piling on to this thread, do you think ski-out to Creekside will also open shortly? I've been hoping that's also just a traffic level issue, since I arrive Sunday for a week at a property that will be ski-in/out if lower Dave Murray is open.

Thx

Creekside should be open by then it's been cold and it's snowing to the valley right now. People have been skiing down but it's still boundary because of the snow making. To answer the OP's question Christmas will be really busy, word on the street is that bookings are 10% up on last year.

Best in the last 2-3 years at least? ... the coast conditions are currently very good and look like they'll hold through Christmas holidays.

Thank you, appreciate the insight that all bowls open except Symphony. Expect a crush of lost souls, as we will have no snow on the Eastern Seaboard and warmer than Phoenix through Jan 1, 2015!

Key though, access to Blackcomb glacier is not open, makes sense, the hike up to the sliver into the glacier while nice and filled up in the spring, right now has to be a non-existent, so clearly not open, which suggests Spanky's access not open. But all bowls on Whistler open, interesting to me.

Thank you

Lower Dave Murray is fine.

No patrol ropes were still up Tuesday but it's for lack of traffic not any real need.

Snow was light, good cover, and pretty nice skiing to base.

By your arrival even those ropes will be gone

Skied Spankys Saturday it was open and in good conditions, also skied Harmony and West bowl Sunday with the best snow in recent years.

Thanks, good to know. Just accommodations at WB are now only in the Donald Trump zipcode. Still curious, is that ledge/path open into Blackcomb glacier which runs above Blowhole, above the bootpack from the top of the showcase T-Bar.

Awesome, good to know!  From the webcams and snow reports over the last few weeks conditions looked as good as I'd hoped for, so I'm glad to hear lower Dave Murray is just shown as closed due to level of people, not lack of snow.

We booked this back in August instead of Sun Valley as we're meeting friends who live in Singapore these days, and we got lucky that WB turns out to have some of the best snow in North America right now.  Looking forward to a great week, and hopefully not quite as crowded as after Christmas.

Thanks again for the on the spot info,

Bob
