(New to the forum.  If post is not appropriate, please let me know and will delete.)

Need a recommendation for powder ski given this is good year in Tahoe where I mostly ski.

Had Rossi Experience 88 and Elan Bloodline (63 underfoot).

Level 7-8, ski mostly off piste, 5'10", 160lb.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Solomon rocker 2 100
Perfect in trees/glades.

We need more info! What do you like? Charger, playful, big tip/tail rocker, stiff / soft. What size are the skis you currently have?

What I'd suggest to start with is ON3P Billy Goat 186 / 184 if you like a charging powder ski that's also a very capable all mountain / crud buster!

Probably a few more options if you want a playful tip / tail rocker ski. ON3P Jeffrey 114 / 122, Nordica Patron, Bent Chetler.

Other directional skis that are not as much of a charger as the Billy Goat are the Solly Quest 115, probably the Praxis GPO (depending on the layup)

Thanks for the info.

I currently have Rossi Ex 88 178, and Elan Bloodline 170.  Mostly last couple years been using the Rossi, and more icy days/mogul days on Elan.

Part of the problem is I'm not sure what I really like :-)  Maybe a ski that's more nimble/in control instead of charging?  For last couple years the days in trees and powders are far and few between; just looking forward to getting back the powder feel this year..

Consider the all new Head Monster 88.  It has been getting great reviews.

OP has Rossi E88, why would he need Head Monster 88 as he is looking for powder ski, vs. all-mountain?

I think/guess, powder is something from 108+ (110, 115, etc); next question, what would he like:

- flex

- traditional vs. tapered

- camber; rocker/camber/rocker or full rocker or anything in between

- turning radius..

I don't think the OP knows what he wants or likes, so Demo/Test is the only option to find at least in general what he likes.

or better answer: red one!

Even better then demo: swap for a day or two with your friends.. see how you like it (different routes and condition would help too) and good luck.

Line sick day 110, Volkl 100eight, you could certainly go wider... Rossi Super 7, etc...

Have 181 Rossi Sickles (110 waist) and Look Pivot 14s to go with them. Drilled for 295 BSL. $265 for both. Will probably be at Squawlpine on 12/23 and 1/2. PM me if interested.

Thanks all.  Ended up buying Volkl One because of the discount, and its pure focus on being powder ski.  Can't wait to try it out once arrive.

Looks good. I think you made the right choice. I was going to mention volkl twos, which are nice for low angel deep; bought mine for Japan but now use them whenever is soft as they're a lot of fun.
