Chasing snow in Michigan - UP tips

Well the title kind of says is all, slim pickings in the mitten state so far this season so it's time to hop in the car and go to where the snow is, on a budget of course.

Ski Brule and Marquette are roughly the same distance/time from one another with Brule having more snow right now but good snow making weather on the horizon.  Powderhorn and Indianhead sound like they may be in the same shape with opening coming on the 19th.

Which would you choose between Marquette and Brule?  Is it worth the extra two hours each way for Indianhead or Powderhorn?

And last, road trip next weekend anyone? :)

Only Brule is open of those you listed, weather has been very bad.  Where are you coming from?  You might want to consider going east rather than driving to the UP if your from SE Mich.

Fortunately for me I live in traverse city so I have nubs, boyne a, schuss, etc just a short drive away. Great for a typical year, but a trip east is easily another 3 hours more than if I lived down state.

Temps should be dropping Monday, snow guns will be in the UP soon!
