Hi EpicSkiers!

The SkiEssentials.com review of the new Kastle FX 95 HP just went live on our Chairlift Chat blog!

You can also find it posted right here on EpicSki in the article section

Pretty impressive skis!  They outperformed just about anything we put them up against at the Copper test last season.  Definitely give it a read and try to get on a demo this season if you have a chance!

Quite the rave review, thanks !

Did you get a chance to ride the non-HP FX95 ?

Or the new BMX105 HP & non-HP ?

@ARL67 I didn't ski the non HP FX 95 or the BMX 105, but I do plan on take some runs on the BMX 105 HP as soon as we get some snowfall here in Vermont!

Chances are we'll be putting together another review, but I'll post here with some initial thoughts once I've had a chance to get on a pair!

What is the comparison to the LX?

The LX is a much different animal than the FX 95 HP.

The LX series has:

-thinner metal

-lighter wood core

-cap construction

So ultimately it's a much lighter weight ski with easier turn initiation than the FX or MX lines.  Still a great ski, still very responsive, but not quite as aggressive as the FX or MX.

I've skied the LX, owned the MX and FX in various guises. IMO the LX is an underrated ski. (Especially the 92, no longer made.) Kind of a MX light, easier to initiate than the FX, but not a great deal lower end or reduced stability. Pretty sure it's always had .5 Titanal top and bottom just like the MX, uses a slightly less dense wood for the core and has the Kastle cap over the standard sandwich, so cap's not a major structural member like it used to be in Sollies etc. A good ski for a lighter or smaller skier who wants the Kastle feel without the Kastle beef.
