My boss gave me the day off to recover because I just worked the overnight shift for the past two weeks. What better medicine than a trip to Vail. They reported 1" overnight and 16" in the past 7 days. Well, that was the deepest 1" I have ever skied. Vail is so big the rule is if you find good snow don't move because you will spend half the day traversing and find just as good snow. Well I did not break that rule today. They must have just opened some of the South facing terrain in Game Creek because I got some pretty amazing tracks. I skied some secret glades and they were good stuff. Some snags blew down on the existing runs so I was pretty cautious in the trees. Tips up the whole time but there was lots of snow to push around. It was a pretty spectacular day for Dec 1st. We go into a dry spell until next Saturday. One more big storm and it is full on in the Colorado mountains. I saw Wolf Creek got 12" last night. I am feeling much better by the way.
