3 year old Cochise 2nd buckle too tight since footbed installed.

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased custom footbeds for my boots and I have noticed on the first three days out on them that it feels like they are over-buckled. Specifically the 2nd buckle at the mid-foot. They are on the last notch and the micro adjustment is as loose as it can go. I'm assuming the footbed is taking up slightly more volume than the Superfeet did. What are my options here? Can the buckle be moved? Is there a way to extend it? I might just ski with it unbuckled. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Your analysis sounds correct.  It may be possible to sand the footbeds thinner, especially if they are posted in the heel area.

It is also possible to grind the plastic on top of the tongue in the instep area thinner.

first check to se if the molded in hump in the bootboard has been flattened out. then check the thickness of the footbed. and lastly either grind or cut out a circular piece of the plastic tongue skin above the instep bump.
