OK, you've a good attitude.    I'm sorry to have harped on the above point, but big points of failure (even in layered ski clothes) are-  not windproof enough and not enough protection in the collar/neck/underchin/ lower face area.

Tricky part is that helmets, like heads, come in different shapes.  When ordering online, but prepared to send stuff back if if doesn't fit.  Also, some helmet-goggle combinations don't work out so well.  Don't need to spend all that much but you want to find one that feels comfortable.
