Where do I find XC Ski Wear for the laterally challenged 3XL, 4XL?

Thread Starter

I am looking for XC ski pants for men's true 3XL, 4XL and have not been able to find anywhere.  Most stores or online carry up to 2XL

Most big & tall places carry only alpine ski pants which are not well suited for XC workouts

I tried 2117 OF SWEDEN ASARNA MEN'S XC PANTS BLACK XXXLARGE  but these are really at best a US 2XL size

Same issue on jacket 2117 OF SWEDEN ASARNA MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY JACKET BLACK XXXLA.  I could barely get around my shoulders never mind my waist

I have placed an order for Columbia MEN’S ASCENDER™ HOODED SOFTSHELL JACKET - BIG and hope that is a true size for a jacket

I had a conversation with a fellow challenged skier where I asked if he does XC.  His remark was "you and I are not built for XC".  I hope to prove him wrong and get in some much needed winter exercise.  Any help would be appreciated so I can get out for some fun this winter.

I have no idea. Also don't know if you'll run into the same problem with running clothing sizing but you may wanna give it a shot, the stuff crosses over to XC skiing very well.

Btw, even if you're stuck with less then ideal clothing options, stick with XC skiing, it's a great full body workout, and fun:)

Sorry I'm not help with your question, but this guy was wrong. Yes you are not build to win World cup race (for that you need to be around 65-70kg... at 180-185cm, but 90% of WC racers are not going to win it either...ever! :) But I'm pretty sure your goal is not there. And for everything else, xc skiing is best option of all sports. It includes full body, you need relatively short time to get full workout, and it's much more intensive then any running or cycling (alpine skiing and "efforts" in alpine skiing are joke compared to this). And what's nicest of all... really everyone can do it. It's low impact (if you don't count those few low speed crashes anyone has when starting, but snow is soft :)), and you can basically just "walk" and still get quite some excercise out of it. So I'm sure you can easily prove him wrong :)

You might have better luck finding super sizes in cycling gear.

I wore these this morning @ 9f and they worked great. I stripped down to a mid weight technical layer top after 10 minutes.
