Length of fischer progressor for advanced, tall, lightweight skier. Help me chose [on piste in Europe]

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy fischer progressor 900. But I'm in doubt as to whether I should go for the 170 or 175 cm. (I found a good deal on both sizes.)

About me:

Age 33, advanced skier (I think), 178 lbs, 6 feet & 3 inches (tall and skinny).

I ski 95% on piste. I do mostly small turns.

I ski in Europe where the hills are often packed snow or icy. So I need a ski that can 'cut through the ice', but still with the amount of flex that fits my weight and style of skiing.

Last year I tried salomon 24 hours (170 cm), which I actually liked a lot, but they became unstable at higher speeds, and also I kinda wanted a bit more challenging ski. Stiffer, but not extremely stiff. That's why I'm now looking at Fischer p900.

But I'm not sure about the length. What do you think given the description above? 170 or 175?

I know there are lots of threads about ski length, and I have read them all.

But I could still really use some advice/thoughts. It will be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Morten

175. I ski a a P900 in 175 and am a bit shorter and heavier than you. I would have got a 180 but wasn't readily available. Great hard snow ski.

I'll be 67 next month, and  I'm 5'7" and weigh 165 lbs. My P900s are 170 cm. They work well in both short and long turns for me. So, I'd also say 175 for you. And, yes, a great hard snow ski!

Thanks to both of you. I went with the 175's. Just received them today, and it definitely feels right.

Good for you....   I just got a pair of Progressor F-19s in 177.  I have 8 days on them and really like them.  I'm 5'9", 175lbs.
