MI & WI Ski Shop Question

Thread Starter
I'm looking to demo & possibly purchase some skis in Dec. Depending on snow coverage I'm planing to visit either Shumakers ski shop in Flint, MI or Les Moise ski shop in Mequon or Brookfield, WI. Does anyone here know anything about any of these shops? I'm not near any of them so I know nothing about them. I'd appreciate any feedback on them!

Mod note:

Fixed the thread title for you.  When you need a thread title fixed, easiest way is to click on the Red Flag and write a note.  All Moderators can see that note, so it's more likely to get attention sooner rather than later.

I deleted your duplicated thread since you got a reply in this one.

They don't do demo's anymore! Ive got sone vacation time to use before tge end of the year so I'm going to the Nubs Nob demo center to try a bunch but I'm also trying to demo some Stockli's before I make my final decision.

Les Moise will let you demo skis for I believe $50 a day that will go towards the purchase of buying new skis.  I know for sure they had some Stockli's to demo.  If my memory is correct I believe they were the Stormrider 95.  They have a good selection of skis with usually the best the prices.  I would recommend the Brookfield shop over the Mequon.  I would just not buy boots from them, they really don't know what they are doing.

Thanks kslass! I'm trying the sr95 & 88. Good info because we all know that just because a shop carries a ski it doesn't mean you should buy it from them!

I would highly suggest a trip to Nubs Nob near Harbor springs MI. Nubs has a really comprehensive demo fleet available. I believe it is $50.00 per day with unlimited demos. They have done a fantastic job in the past lining up a group of skis that are chosen with local conditions in mind.

I'm going there first but they don't have the 2 skis at the top of my list, Stockli & Armada.

Anyone have info on Shumakers in Flint?

I have frequented Schumakers in Flint and I am not aware of any demo options at this shop. As of the end of last season Schumakers did not stock any current Stockli product. Getting a Stockli demo will be hard to find in this region. What Stockli are you interested in? I purchased a set of Laser SCs on recommendation, and have been very happy with this choice. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their skis. Other than the cost I see no downside, a truly superior ride!

They (and the shop in WI) said that the rep will send them whatever I want with a weeks notice. It may come down to snow as far as where I demo but I think the WI store may be a better choice in case I want to purchase. I'm looking at the Stockli SR 88 vs Armada Invictus 89ti. But I'm demoing as many others as I can before Christmas.
