Downhill Skis worth and where to sell

Thread Starter

Hello, I have a pair of Atomic Arc Module, Bionic SLC 190 skis (195 cm) with bindings and poles that I received from an individual a few years ago with extremely low amounts of visible wear. They were used maybe once or twice so I'm looking to sell them. I currently have them listed on ebay for about $70, but no one seems interested in them at all. Where should I look to sell them? What are they even worth?

I think eBay is telling you.

The poles are worth $10, maybe.

The bindings are likely so old as to be not indemnified (will not sell, shop will not touch).

Skis - you will have trouble giving them away.

There are various companies that will take old skis and turn them into furniture; something like http://www.recycledskis.com/got_old_skis.html

Do some Google'ing for ski furniture makers...  there might be a similar company near you?  As you've discovered, ski technology has changed drastically, so what you have is worthless.  Sorry.

What you are trying to sell, in the ski world, is just like this:

There is no value. No one would even take it for free.

There used to be a barrel at the entrance of my local REI where you could place items like that for "recycling." They don't do it anymore. I think they just ended up in the landfill, but it came in handy for people like me who just can't bear to throw away skis. But yeah long story short what you have there is a pile of garbage.

Sometimes local ski shops will take obsolete gear off your hands for you when they hold their fall sale/ski swap events.

moderator note: you had me at Nigeria. The op's question has been answered. Locking this thread.
