On The Snow Android app

Has anyone been having issues with the new update? Mine is so slow as to be non-functional. What is better just for general snow conditions at an area? Not looking for tracking device, just conditions. This app has become unusable. The video at the beginning is a minor annoyance. It is just always "loading". Every screen takes so long that I could bring in the trash.

I thought about it, but after flushing the cache and restarting it, it seems better again. Wondering if it's related to Android 6 and the Doze feature... Maybe it used to do stuff in the background and that's been shut down?

On the powder points page, are the sorts working for you? Not for me. I have to exit the page and reenter it.

Hmm.... I haven't noticed a slow down - although it's never been the quickest app for me around. Just took a look at the Powder Points and I see the same issue with the sorts. 

 

They work fine in the "My Areas" list though...

Seems to be okay now. Might have had something to do with the upgrade?

I had an issue with it slowing down on my iPhone after the last upgrade too, so I uninstalled.  Haven't really tried it since I did that.

Mine's still broken. I tried rebooting and checking for updates to be sure, but the Powder Points page won't sort without going to another page first. I don't really use that page though - so doesn't really bother me.

Oh, the sort's still broken, but the horrid slowness went away after I loaded each page at least once. Yes, intensely slow at first, but now fine.

The Nearby page seems broken as well. All the distances say 0 miles and increasing the Distance from 100 to 200 to 300 miles doesn't add any new resorts to the list.


Has anyone noticed problems with scrolling in the Mobile page for Epicski?

I had a problem where the mobile page seemed to lock up my browser and I couldn't scroll, even though it would load fine. Sometimes exiting the browser and going back in would fix it. Sometimes rebooting the phone woudl fix it.

 

The page worked/scrolled fine in different browsers on my phone, so it was something with the one I was using (the default Samsung browser). It went away after a week or so though, so I assumed some update happened to fix it.

 

What phone/OS/browser are you using?

Open snow app is good.

A Motorola Razr with Chrome browser. Didn't bother to look up exact model/OS/browser version. I've restarted the browser or phone with variable benefit. Seems to be an intermittent problem.

Hadn't noticed the Nearby problems. Same. I think I'll report it.

Haven't had any Epic problems. Have that issue on Google News and Facebook, though.

It quit sending me snow alerts. Last season it was doing rhis whenever my mountains reported new snow. Now not getting them. I checked the settings and notifications are turned on.

I've done that in the past when the app wouldn't even load, but afterwards the Nearby page still didn't work right. Is there a limit to 10 resorts on the Nearby page? That's all I get. I've just keep the My Areas page filled with the resorts I like to visit as a work around.

Has anyone tried to call out mountain news here on epic? Heather really is helpful and may be able to assist. More than that, they may like to know people are having these issues so the can address it

I just saw this thread. Paging @MtnNews @HeatherBSki she oversees the app and I'm sure can help our or at least report it to the development team.

Hey everyone--thanks for your feedback! Our development team is aware of and working on most of these issues as we speak and should have all of them totally resolved in an updated release within the week. I appreciate the help in improving the app.
