Breckenridge Local Help

Thread Starter

Hey All,

Will be in breck twice this year, Dec and Feb and really looking for someone with Local knowledge that my wife and I can follow around and get in on some fun.  If we could buy you lunch or dinner or just pay you for your time that would be awesome.  We are Hunter Mountain NY locals and would return the favor gladly(powder stash days are few and far between, but none the less).

I snowboard, my wife skis and we are proficient in expert terrain minus the most hair raising mandatory air (not my wife's cup of tea).  Would really just like to get that local knowledge that can really help you to see the mountain in a different light as i know from experience.

Also, will be spending hopefully a powder day in Vail one day in Feb.  If you know anyone who can help us with this.  We will not hold anyone up and are a fun time, and would love to give knowledge we have as well.

That being said, if anyone is at Hunter on a legit powder day with a good base, hit me up, we will show you the goods. As long as you have tight lips and no friends.

Thanks

Mike

May be kind of far out to get someone to commit to meet you at this time.  Perhaps ask again four or five days before your trip?  Even if no locals respond you may hear from a vacationer who knows the place and will be there same dates.  These two reports cover some of the fun stuff at Breck, basically go high and stay on the upper lifts your entire ski day and you will skip the crowds, not that there may be many people before Christmas.  Depending on how much is open for the mid-Dec visit it could be a good way to scope mtn out to maximize your Feb visit.

@jamesj it is not our first visit, and I do get the just of the mountain, but was looking for that next level know how, and the go here at this time then go here and then there are stashes here...I am just hoping for some open terrain above tree line in December and for this storm cycle to continue

I think starting to ask about two weeks before is optimal.  Too close to the dates others who are traveling may be too busy getting ready to be online much.

Also worth thinking about posting in the on-going regional thread since locals are more likely to be subscribed to that thread.

When are you going to be in Breck? My friends and I (now in college) grew up skiing Breck and know it like the back of our hands. Additionally have former and collegiate competitive skiing experience. If you wanted to follow us around the mountain for a day I'm sure it would be a blast.

@biggiesmalls Pulling this up from last year, when we didnt see a single flake fall for 8 days, i guess we picked the perfect window to head out...so we chose the same dates again this year---feb 4-12---maybe we will be able to hit the hill together this feb if it ever snows

That could be super cool. I'll be around in CO/summit county those dates so let's correspond closer to the date.

Cheers
