Is Whistlers current winter weather/snow fall a good predictor for how it'll look Mid-December?

As the title says: Is Whistlers current winter weather/snow fall a good predictor for how it'll look Mid-December?

Based on how it looks now, is this good, bad, or not a good indicator of what's to come over the next month?  I am either planning on going Dec. 12-16 or end of January, but prefer December dates.

Also, assuming we go mid-December, would we pay a huge premium by booking a week in advance (plane tickets have already been booked with Southwest, so I can cancel them anytime) but in terms of lodging, would there still be good prices if we book early December?

Thanks

so far seems to be normal.

Opening day is US Thanksgiving as always (at the latest). Lots of snow in forecast

December is a gamble. It can be good all the way down to the valley but if we get a dreaded pineapple express it will still fall as rain on the lower hill this early in winter. Upper hill will be fine.

Up to Dec 18 no difficulty getting deals, Lift tickets are also discounted for early season conditions.

You should have no trouble taking advantage of the "last minute deals" available on their website, since that is a quiet time for ski resorts. We do this regularly and it's typically a very good deals.
