Marcel is one of the most balanced skiers on the WC. That doesn't necessarily mean he starts all turns as in balance as other turns, to put it another way..shit happens. The photos zenny shared were not as in balance as Marcel is capable of or typically does. This is the problem with taking one photo sequence which shows shit happening and use it to justify "toppling". That is totally erroneous logic.
He was airborne and tipping his skis and without question he would not not have been in balance upon first landing based on the photos we see. I'm quite sure he is attempting to be in balance as soon as is humanly possible in all cases.
This is in stark difference from INTENTIONALLY going out of balance in order to "topple" as par for the course.
The best racers are always attempting at all times to achieve the best balance they can possibly achieve. It does not mean they will always have it, but they are always striving for it.
Mikaela is also one to watch in terms of balance.
You you have any video example of catch/release skiing, that would probably make it clearer, because when I hear catch release I think of something like this, which is highly dynamically balanced.
