Latigo - binding position question

Thread Starter

I have a question about the mounting position for the Rossi FKS 120 bindings that will be used on my recently acquired Latigos. Usually, I just have the shop mount at the manufacturers recommended mid-sole/mid-ski position but given the frontside bias of the Latigos and that they will see occasional time in the bumps, I'm wondering if it may be better to move the mounting a little forward.

The Latigos will double the quantity in my ski quiver and accompany a pair of Bonafides, also shod with FKS 120's but mounted at the mid position.

Cannot speak to Latigos per se, but will comment that moving the binding forward may not help as much as you predict because then less need to apply forward pressure, so it'll sit you up more, can facilitate backseating. Which in bumps can lead to colorful and body-altering outcomes. OTOH, some brands (Kastle and Blizzard come to mind) seem to benefit from a BOF mount, which tends to be ahead of boot mid.

Paging Phil...
