New England Weather

These 70 degree temps are complete bullshit.

I feel better now.

We haven't hit 70 up here in northern VT, but it was mid sixties yesterday, probably hit sixty today, and will be mid sixties again tomorrow. I agree, complete bullshit.

What's worse is everybody walking around commenting on how 'great' the weather is, and asking me if I'm enjoying the warm weather. No. I'm not. Warm weather in November is bad. Shut up and go away.

It's not looking any better in the foreseeable future. Blow torch as far as we can see.

Yeah, like, all the people I work with are smiling.  Just want to shoot somebody.

(That last statement is figurative.)

I have to admit I am enjoying this warm spell...must be getting old.

And with age comes wisdom..winter is coming!

I do remember it being unseasonably warm and dry at one of the EpicSki Stowe events, held in mid-December.

At any rate, we were talking to one of the people in the lift line who commented that "this weather is strange..  I come here, ski for a bit in the morning, and then I go home and mow the lawn".

At Sunday River today because my daughter has instructor training.  Brought the mountain bike.  I will get some leg burn one way or another.  At least my dog is psyched.

Golf clubs remain in my trunk for the time being.

Not putting the bikes away yet and keeping the batteries charged for night riding. My everyday skis are ready-they just need a scrape and brush. New boots being fitted on the 17th, but I can still use my old ones if we get a sudden cold blast or dump of snow.

The Grandkids are coming up from NC over Thanksgiving and looking forward to building snowmen...............may not happen!

I took November 21st off of my ski log as my projected first day of skiing.  Now it's the day after Thanksgiving.  Hopefully.

Indian summer.
Bike off anxious energy,
Winter has to come...

Oh, I'm sorry, did I have the wrong thread?

Stowe was going to open this weekend, but I just got the email saying that they're now planning on the day before Thanksgiving.  I have family obligations over Thanksgiving though, so it's looking like December 5th for me to finally get back on snow (ice...).

I always say that November skiing isn't worth the driving, etc. and that I'm not going to do it this year, and then I always wind up going anyway.  I guess Mother Nature finally made the decision for me.

I got that email too, Kevin.  Looks like it's going to be a Dec start for me too.

Killington reopened.  I will get some November turns in this weekend.

Reopened last weekend, I think.  Two trails.

This might be the Epic Ski equivalent of playing "Stairway to Heaven" on a guitar in a guitar shop but I'm a bit nervous because I bought a snow blower this year.  But I don't live near the mountains so here's to hoping the lack of snow will happen where my snow blower is, not in the mountains.

Well, just in case, you should still post your address here so that we all know where to send the angry mobs in case winter fails to materialize.  :hissyfit:

So if you didn't get the email, do you get to start skiing sooner?

Oh, shoot.  I got it too.

Actually, I may get some turns in this weekend, to see how those new boots are doing.

Sunday River or Bretton Woods, here I come.  Weather depending.

Reopened last Sunday (until the power problem).  Now claiming 6 trails, but basically Great Northern down to North Ridge (Glades) trails and the Peak Walkway to get back to the K1 gondola at the end of the day.  My first turns are tomorrow.
