Okay, now you got me curious.  Try this on a desktop/laptop.

1)  Use drop down below a username in a post to select Threads Started.  That generates a Search.

2)  You will see the count of All Posts for the user.  For dbostedo, that's a little over 1000.

3)  Click on All Posts on the Search results page.

4)  Find the last page and go there.  For sibhusky, that was over Page 500.  For mdf, the last page was Page 171 and I could go to his first post was in 2006.

Normally the Huddler Search isn't worth much.  Guess it's good for something. ;)

There you go.  Whoo-Hoo to marznc for figuring it out.

I found EpicSki searching for hart javelins. I found some discussion of them and eventually got some. :)

I stayed for the More Retro memories???? thread along with discussions about ski service.

The way marznc posted above works since the site search seems to go back the whole way. I can't seem to find a way to let the regular "All posts" links in your profile see the whole way back on desktop, though it does see everything on the mobile site.

Bob Barnes. Bob Barnes taught me how to ski through the interwebs

Has there ever been a proper Bob-off, and if so, which Bob won?

I came to EpicSki to ask whether I should get a helmet or not :).  Not really.  In truth I found Epicski because I happened to sit next to @Finndog on a flight from Salt Lake City to Steamboat.  He was coming from Newark and I was coming from PDX connecting through SLC.  We started talking and he told me about Epic.  While I mostly lurk I enjoy many of the threads, especially trip reports with pics as it helps with the stoke.

Bob and Joe ... Bob and Joe ... Bob and Joe ...

That's why I'm coming back to EpicSki over and over again - because of "Bob's and Joe"s".

Somebody should name a ski "Bob and Joe" - amphibio style so Bob is left and Joe is right (not always - you can switch depending on conditions and personal preference).

Any advice and/or gear review is secondary (*)... Although I bought thousands of US dollars worth of gear because "content providers" at EpicSki told me it is the sh.t (like "Free the Powder Gloves" that live to that reputation). So, I do not know, I guess my obsession with skiing brought me here, content and characters kept me here.

I was cross referencing ski reviews. Somebody smile.gif encouraged me to stick around. I didn't even use my typical screen name because I wasn't planning on sticking around, and now I am stuck with it.

All joking aside, what brought me here is less important than what keeps me here.

No matter what level/type of skier you are, if you ask a question, members will genuinely try to answer or give advice. It's this communal sharing of knowledge that mskes this site great and worthy.

What first brought me here was gear reviews.

It was fall, 2004.  I had just undergone open heart surgery to repair a birth defect.  I was laid low and BORED hanging around the house with nothing really to do.  I felt weak and vulnerable and I wanted to get some stoke for the coming ski season since it was my goal to be ready to go for opening day despite the long recovery period I was told to expect.  I was going to ski like I'd never skied before, it was going to be an awesome season.  Epic helped me recover and meet my goal of being ready for the opening.

Post script:  That season (2004-05) was one of the worst on record in these parts.  I got only two days on one of my passes.  Ski areas were closing right and left.  The season, as it turned out, was far from awesome, but I recovered and have been with Epic ever since.

I stumbled upon this when I was looking at On the Snow, and found way more info than I bargained for.  Along with reviews, tuning tips and ski combines, and typical good natured jokers:ROTF This looks like the place to be.

No idea-just discovered it and signed up. My original user name was Johnny V., which got lost during one of the early glitches. Somehow ended up as just John V. (I'd prefer to change it back).

Not a frequent poster, but lurk all the time. I've been to a couple of gatherings and have seen a lot of names come and go.

I had just started to ski and really enjoyed it so I was looking for information about skiing, learning to ski, skis and boots and places too ski.

And the answer is 'D'.  None of the above.  Came to Epic following Ott Gangl over from SKI at his recommendation.  Have been here since AC was running the place, but got started after the Barking Beavers became the Barking Bears.  Have stayed for the content.

I had been totally out of skiing due to injuries and burnout for around 6 years.  One day I was looking for info on the old HotDog contests of the 70's on the Net and I came across Epic Ski.  Been with it for 3 yrs now.   Overall, I think it is a great site; there is a lot here @ Epic Ski.   Not the same without PhilPug though….

Guess things have changed a bit, I was in REI the other day and I glanced at their skis.  Man, snowboards sure have gotten thinner, wait a second, those were skis!!  Whatup with that?  Ha-Ha

Still looking. Let me know if you hear about a pair that are available.

I haven't skied this pair yet. They aren't too long. I got them because Hexcel brings back memories of their honeycomb core and a girl who raced them. If you are in Summit County, you are welcome to take them for a spin. I have some Competitions as well.

My lst post was 10 yrs ago and to be honest I don't remember why I joined.  Never was a lurker, joined right away.  Epic has always been a great resource of information and anything to do with skiing.  Really like golf and fly fishing but I am a really an addicted 12 months a year skier and love to ski, talk skiing, meet people etc.  Epic has always been a great site for me and have met and skied with some great people.

Hexcel Sundance and/or Graphite Gold. A few nicks do not matter. I need them to have 80% of their skiable life left. 190-200 cm.
