K2 rictor 82 XTI vs iKonic 85TI

Has anyone had the chance to try out both models? I am mot sure which I should buy. The rictor seems to be very solid and is much cheaper than the iKonic. Is the new model worth the premium?

Never skied the ikonic but I have skied the rictor 82. That ski was the final iteration of a long and steady evolution of a number of great skis going back to the old mod x through the recon to the rictors. It is powerful and smooth, not exciting but stays absolutely glued to the snow. I think it is a tad more demanding than most say it is, but still, for a ski with some guts, it isn't burly feeling

Here's what Phil had to say a while ago >>>

Modern would be the one word I would use. If you didn't know better, the 82 could have been the old Recon...it was just warmed over. The new iKonic's are more playful and brighter in feel. I really liked the nimbleness of them.
