Snowbird 2015-2016

It looks like we're supposed to get a decent shot of snow this week so I figured it was time to go up and pick up my pass. Opening dat is scheduled for the 21st but I'm holding out hope for an earlier date!

Halloween still in effect.

Snow safety has a new toy to play with, an O'BellX.

RF cards this season, no more pulling it out every lift ride.

Looks like Alta has blown a bit of snow.

New lane dividers by entry 1, it should help clear up traffic problems in that area.

It took a few years but Cottonwood Heights finally ran the Canyon Inn out of business. It's been pretty common knowledge for the last few years that if you wanted to be pulled over by the police go to the Canyon Inn. Thankfully it appears the developers aren't going to get the property...

Does that mean the Lifthouse is going to move?

I'm not sure if they're moving buildings or just expanding?

For those who missed it, lots of great pics in the 2014-15 thread.  It was a low snow year but there was still plenty of fun at Snowbird.  Looking forward to more snow, and that much more fun this season.

Other than the -20F at the top of the tram (which was brutal) I was able to nailed trips during 2 storm cycles and ski nothing but powder! Great season at Alta/Bird for me...

I just googled the stories of the Canyon Inn and other area businesses, and their problems with crooked police.  That's pretty crazy, I can't believe that sort of thing goes on in a First World Country.  How has that not gone to a higher authority for investigation?  The evidence is clear, but they aren't doing anything about it?
