Cirquerider was a leader here. In that regards so are The Rusty and Tyler.
Why they were let go I don't know but I just don't see it as the leaders of epic being let go.
I do miss Cirque though, he took some very difficult situations on with aplomb.
All I can say to the above is that you and I view Epic Ski leadership through 2 very different perspectives. One aspect of leadership is the ability to "pull people in" to the Epic community, and, my thinking is that T&P are unequaled in both starting and commenting in the the most popular sub-forums. They spent hours pounding the keyboards to sustain the forum over a full 12 months per year, does that count as ownership or leadership.. Phil, especially, has a very creative mind and sense of hummer that resulted in starting some great threads that mere mortals like you and i will never achieve. I have no insights into the behind-the-scenes moderator discussions, so, I've no information regarding who's voices shaped the forum in the past 3 years and managed the relationship with MN. The culture of this forum has been for members to model the behaviors of T&P and post in a frequent and positive manner when people are looking for information.
I don't understand the logic about tagging Rusty and Tyler as leaders while dismissing T&P's efforts. Not knocking what Rusty and Tyler, and what the other more active mods have contributed, but, in my mind, they don't hold a candle to T&P in making this forum what it's become in the past 3 years. It's a labor of love for any mod and they deserve our respect. Do you really think that if either Tyler or Rusty was dismissed there would be a similar outcry? I have few memories of Circuerider, but, I seem to remember he reduced his presence in the moderator community with a change in location. And, prior to the Epic sale to Vail, there was an actual owner to provide leadership, so, the past 3 years are different, and, I find P&T stepped into the void and served pretty damn well.
I may be accused of looking at the glass as half empty, but, I think this forum is in for some rough days. Time will tell if the great sense of an epic community can be restored. I .think you owe an apology to Trish and Phil for all they have accomplished. It's not about what they could-have-done or should-have-done, it's about what they did.
