Goof off skis for me! Help me select some lightweight twin tips

Hi all.  I'm poking around for some new (to me) skis and thought I'd solicit your advice.  I am interested in some lightweight twin tips for some specific uses.  These skis would complement the other two skis in my quiver: Kastle MX88 (168) for all-mountain and Nordica Patrons (177) for powder.  I am 5'11" 145 lbs.  Advanced ability.

Uses:

1.  For goofing around when I start getting bored.  I live in LA and ski in Big Bear (as well as occasional trips to Mammoth), which is mostly groomed terrain.  There are hardly any bumps or steeps, let alone powder, so I have been eyeing the rails, boxes, and jumps as a way to have fun on the slopes.

2.  For the times when I'm skiing with my kids (age 4,6,8).  Last season when I skied with them I found that it would be nice to have something lighter, since sometimes I have to go back up or across the hill to help them up and I also end up carrying my stuff and their stuff back to the car or bus.  I want twin-tips because I like going backwards down the hill while watching them ski.

3.  These would also be my rock skis.

I started reading reviews and looking around on eBay and on all the usual websites for skis.  I'm pretty sure that some sort of park ski with a width of about 85mm is gonna do the job.  I'm guessing I'll get something off eBay, but could get something new if it's a good enough deal.  I put a list of what looks good so far down below.  Am I missing anything?  Or is there anything I should steer clear from?  Thanks.

Skis:  ???

Armada AR7 (or AR6 if it's on eBay)

Armada El Rey

Line Afterbang

K2 Sight

4FRNT Switchblade

We got a good deal last year on previous model of AR7 from LevelNineSports for my son and he loves them. Takes them in the park and eastern trees (Poconos, Killington) despite being a full camber ski. He likes them so he can do spins and ski switch. Looked at the Walls also, but he was stuck on the Armada image. cool.gif

I think they have last year's model on clearance right now.

Yeah the Armada image is strong.  Harlaut!  Casabon!  Those guys are really creative.

I feel the lure too.

I think you're on the right track. I did the same thing for a similar use ski this summer.

Diligently hunt your local Craigslist , Sierra trading post, L9, etc for some previous year park skis.

I got lucky with such and ended up with some from High society for a whopping $32 shipped.

Tele gear is super light and your kids will have an absolute blast watching you learn to ski them switch. They will be picking you up for a change. ;)
