Oh man, I wish I still had one! I do still have one corded phone at home though. Handy when the power goes out and less RF in the head too!

When I was young we had two lines, my dad was a CPA worked at home. The phone had a row of buttons for each line and a red hold button. When you pushed the hold button the button for the line you were on popped up allowing you to push another button down.
I took the phone apart and removed the little triangular piece of metal that wouldn't allow two lines to be on at the same time and could make conference calls.
I'd unscrew the mouthpiece and take out the microphone, which was a metal capsule, call two people who didn't like each other and listen in.
"Why did you call me?"
"I didn't call you, you called me."
It was fun.
Once I called the police department and the recorded announcement for a porno movie theatre.
Ah the good old days of no caller ID. This would have been about 1968 or 69.
